Basketball Game

Cody and Anna got to watch Aunt Elise’s basketball team win their game this weekend! Yay, Elise! She is quite a good ball handler! Cody also had fun going to one of those Japanese restaurants where the food is prepared in front of you. Both Cody and Anna seemed a little nervous about the large amount of fire at our table. Anna would actually hold my arm for added security, but Cody got a big kick out of the toy boy that squirted water at him! He told us several times about the boy, “who went potty on him!”

It is fun traveling with Cody and Anna because they are very easy to go places with and need almost no toys for the drive. They are perfectly content to look out their windows. They got to see deer and other animals on the drive to Nanna and Pap’s, and Cody would tell me “You have good eyes, Mommy!” when I spotted something from far away! Cody loves the trip because he likes to stop off to eat and play at “Old McDonald’s House.” We stopped there for lunch on our drive over, and Cody and Anna had fun playing on the playground there. Cody asked another little boy his name while playing, and when the boy told him, Cody said to him, “That’s a good name!” Cody and Anna also would peek their heads up into the enclosed slides, and Cody would announce, “It’s Cody Michael and Anna Grace!” It is really nice just having that time together on the road as a family. By the way, hope Nanna’s throat is better! Cody enjoyed imitating her in the car as he practiced trying to clear his throat! He told Shawn and me to watch him as he repeatedly bent his head low and cleared his throat into his tiny fist. Then he showed us his animal fruit snack zebra and said, “Look! I have a Ze…..(took time again to clear his throat)……bra!” Shawn asked him if he was trying to clear his throat, and he didn’t seem to realize what it was he was doing as he told Shawn, “No, I’m just doing something.” He wasn’t sure what Nanna had been doing the whole time he was visiting, but he thought it looked pretty special and important that’s for sure!
