On The Menu: A Dish of Cold

Anna the other night at dinner excused herself from the table and headed for the ladies room. From there she called out to me, “Mom, you said our dinner was going to be cold, but it’s not cold.”

Me: “I said what?”

Anna: “You said our food was going to be cold, but it’s not.”

Me: ” I never said that.”

Anna: “Yes, you did. You said it would be cold.”

I thought to myself, “Why would I ever say that chilli is cold?” I began laughing, “Anna, I said we were having chilli for dinner. That is what the food is called, but, no, it is not cold.”

Anna: “Well, I think I’ll call it cold.”
