Banished

Today Cody was joking around with me while Anna and Dylan were napping. He had a bad case of the giggles and was being quite rambunctious. I joked with him that I was going to have to banish him in response to something silly he said or did. Then he asked me what banished meant. I said something like, “to send away” (meaning to the other room). However, he looked like he was on the brink of tears and expressed he was afraid he was going to have to live with other people. I completely did not see that coming. I assured him of what I meant, and the giggles and the boisterous behavior continued, but I will never forget that face. I am so happy he loves his life with us. I couldn’t imagine mine without him.
