Captain Memo’s Pirate Adventure

While on vacation we read great things about Captain Memo’s pirate tours, so we decided to take a sunset tour with them. We picked the evening tour, so Abigail wouldn’t be under the intense sun for long since the boat was not fully covered. We heard it was geared for children, and, boy, was it ever! The whole experience was so cute and fun for everyone. We traveled with the crew, a group of costumed swashbucklers, who interacted with the children constantly. They gave the kids pirate-fashioned water guns when they arrived but waited to fill them. Once they were filled and given the go-ahead, all kinds of craziness broke out among the children and the parents, as they were given guns too! I spent the end portion of that little episode in a corner, though, shielding and taking all the shots for Dylan and Abigail! Then the children heard pirate tales, picked their treasure from the treasure box, went on a treasure hunt, and then went to the front of the boat for prizes and face painting. Cody insisted we have our faces painted also. In fact, most of the parents did. Drinks were given out also as we enjoyed the 2 hours on the boat. Toward the end, they played some fun music and let the kids participate in a fun limbo challenge. The crew kept everything moving at a smooth pace, so it kept everything so enjoyable. Dylan said, “That was fun!” when we got off the boat, and Cody told a crew member that he would like to join their pirate crew when he gets older! He couldn’t stop dreaming up how fun that was going to be and still talks of his aspirations to join them some day. This was definitely a highlight to their vacation.
