Kaleidoscope And Chocolate Factory

Okay, I have just two more Kansas City posts. We had so much fun that I don’t want to exclude anything. At Crown Center we stopped in at the Hallmark Kaleidoscope room. It was so cute and artsy…I couldn’t believe it was all free! The kids loved going from station to station and making their own artwork out of the materials that were provided. They got to make a puzzle from their artwork by cranking the wheel to the puzzle machine. They also loved the paint dryer machine that they sent their dinosaur paintings through. Abby found markers at her arm’s reach, a true treasure for her…we get markers out for her on rare occasions at home! After the Kaleidoscope room we headed to Chip’s Chocolate Factory to hear all about how chocolate is made. The funny thing was that the night before we went, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory came on television as the kids were getting ready for bed.  Perfect timing, right? We watched that before falling asleep. The man who gave the presentation was HILARIOUS! He had people just laughing, inside and outside of the store and was full of jokes. Even Dylan was laughing as chocolate was flying and as the man slapped his spatula on the table repeatedly with the goofiest facial expressions. Cody does a great imitation! The kids sampled chocolate while there and got their own treat bags to take home. Abigail couldn’t get enough! She loved the chocolate marshmallows on a stick. I told Shawn when we left that the presentation couldn’t have gone any better. I felt like we had learned something and gotten to go to a fun comedy show all at the same time!
