Laumeier Sculpture Park

We spent Sunday afternoon at the Laumeier Sculpture Park.  It was beautiful weather and just fun playing together and exploring the park.  We saw some pretty interesting sculptures.  My favorite was the massive eyeball (reminded me of the eyeball joke between my dad and me)!  Anna immediately began to educate Abby on the different parts of the eye, pointing it out on the sculpture.  We found some large metal balls hidden in the trees.  We are still not sure what that was all about.  They triggered memories of my childhood fever dreams, and I kept half expecting them to start rolling out of the sky towards me.  This prompted the kids to share their dreams with us; that was fun!  We found a stage in the park where Cody,  Anna, Dylan, and Abby decided to put on a magic show for Shawn and me.  Abigail ended the show with a musical performance of “Do You Wanna Build a Snowman” from the hit movie Frozen.  Anna thanked me for letting them go there, and Abby did not want to leave when it was time.  I told her she would have to stay there and that the eyeball would have to watch her.  It didn’t phase her.  She responded, “I want the eyeball to watch me.”  Silly girl!
