Road Trip Alphabet Games
The kids and I took a road trip to my parents’ house before school starts this week. I brought some alphabet fruit snacks along for the drive. It made for a nice snack halfway through the drive and also doubled as a fun game of “Name 5 Things That Start With Your Letter.” Aunt Tracy took the kids to the famous Kewpee where Anna gave her overall impression of the place as, “It’s all about the naked baby.” Ha, it kind of is! Aunt Kelli brought over sewing projects for Anna. She made T-shirt pillows, and she also made some “treasure bags” for her and Abigail. Most of this “treasure” came from the jewels in Grandma’s back patio. The kids claimed they were only picking out the loose ones. I hope they didn’t “help” the process along any! Aunt Kelli brought her popcorn maker too, and we all got samples of her amazing homemade popcorn. That was fun! We saw deer in Grandpa and Grandma’s backyard as we were getting ready to eat dinner one evening, and the last morning there we waited for four turkeys to cross the lane. The kids said they were torn about leaving when it was time to go. They wanted to stay and be together longer but were also ready to have their dad back with them. In the words of Winnie the Pooh, “How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.”
