Christmas Cheer

“The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear.”  Anna’s Girl Scout troop and the younger Daisy troop spent Friday evening making Rudolph noses and jingle bells for the patients at an Alzheimer’s home.  The next day the girls went caroling there and passed out their fun creations.  It was a very eye-opening experience for them.  One lady cried throughout it.  She was very eager for Dylan to sit next to her which he did.  When he went to sit down, she pulled his chair over closer to her.  She was very sweet and seemed to love Dylan’s presence next to her.  There was a man, though, who seemed fixated on Dylan throughout the carols.  He kept walking up to Dylan, getting eye level with him, and then would begin laughing.  This was pretty intimidating to Dylan, so he stuck close to Shawn and me after that.  Anna told me afterwards, “Mom, I saw one of the patients eating the pom pom ball on the Rudolph nose.”  Anna was so sweet and compassionate with the people there, and I hope the songs and the children blessed and encouraged them this season.
