Human Pinata Chase

The human pinata chase was such a fun twist to our fall party games this year!  My friend Jen and I hot glued candy on the back of shirts and had the kids chase down the child wearing it and rip the candy off of them!  So much laughter ensued!!  The ground was soggy from all the rain we had gotten from that week, so we opted to play it in the cul-de-sac.  Thankfully, there were no face plants!  This would be such a fun game to play at any large family gathering as well!  While some fun experiments were going on on the back patio, we had an unexpected visitor run through, a large buck (at least an 8 pointer).  We were back in a subdivision off of a major highway, so to see a deer back there was very strange!  A brief moment later he was in the backyard again with a doe.  Talk about twists in the party…that same doe lay down under a tree and died.  We are assuming that it had gotten hit by a car while crossing the busy street.  We tried to redirect the little ones as much as possible away from that whole scene…no sad memories at our parties!  We bobbed for donuts, played games, and my super fun, science-loving friend brought some exciting experiments for the kids to try.  We even “exploded” a few pumpkins after lunch.  Even as the kids get older, these school parties are still just as exciting to me!
