Kennedy Space Center

Cody loves space, so Shawn wanted to take Cody to the Kennedy Space Station since we were nearby.  After spending the day there, we made a late night stop at a Friendly’s and introduced the kids to their famous Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Sundae that I remembered from childhood. I haven’t eaten at one in probably 20 years.  Shawn, the kids, and I laughed as we recalled all the interesting people we encountered that day.  Two such characters were an Asian mother in her 50’s who seemed to be with her 20-something year old daughter.  Abby and I stood behind them in line in the restroom.  Everything seemed fine as they spoke in their own language, foreign to me.  Then all of a sudden, they broke out in a slap fight, with the mother then grabbing at the younger woman’s top.  We later stood behind them in line for the shuttle bus.  I whispered to Shawn, “Do you see this?!” as we watched the younger woman pinch hard at the older woman’s waist.  Then the older woman, without exchanging words, did it back.  The last thing we saw was one of them pinching the other’s arm, quietly without drawing attention to others, but it looked painful!  As we went through the gift shop, we ran across a woman dressed sloppily as Minnie Mouse, giddy, and bouncing with excitement shouting loudly to her husband, “Daddy!!  Daddy!!  We (her and the kids with her) want some space ice cream!”  I think the simulator we were in may have taken us to a whole new planet because things were feeling all too weird here on planet Earth!
