Hayride and Pumpkin Picking

Today we went on a field trip to a beautiful farm about 40 minutes away from our house. We met with the kindergarten through 3rd grade boys and girls for a hayride out to the pumpkin patch to pick pumpkins. Cody and Anna searched for the perfect one for themselves and then raised their hands for the man to come cut theirs for them. Cody was careful to look for the cleanest ones! We rode the tractor back to the barns and listened as one of the beekeepers taught the children about bees and their homes. They served the children some crackers with an apple spread made and sold on their farm. Afterwards, we sat outside for a picnic and then played the rest of the time out on the playground behind the barn. There was a corn maze that Anna insisted Cody was lost inside with some of the other boys. He clearly was not, but it was sweet of Anna to be concerned for her brother. The drive there and back was beautiful, lots of windy roads and beautiful fall foliage. Couldn’t have asked for a better day!
