Last night we went to Cody and Anna’s first semi-private swim lesson. Cody took lessons from Miss Rachel in the summer and loved it (and her, I think!). Anna then decided she would like lessons as well, but, unfortunately, Rachel had to go off to college. We set up lessons with someone close to home, Mr. David. Anna was nervous that he would make her dive into the water and wishes she could swim with her head straight up! We were nervous about her having a male instructor. We weren’t sure if that would be more intimidating to her, but when we met him he was energetic and greeted Cody and Anna with a sweet smile. Anna left feeling confident and pleased, and she even dived into the water at the very end, her head fully submerged. She told me on the car ride home that Mr. David did a magic trick with her when she came out of the water. He covered her eyes, uncovered them, blew, and VOILA…the water disappeared from her eyes! Amazing! Good job, Anna, on your first lesson!
