I Just Gotta Tell Ya

The other night at choir Cody shot his hand up in the big circle of children to get permission to speak to the choir teacher. Ms. Karen was leading the children in their music lesson, and she tries not to get too many “interruptions.”…………There are some children in the group who will talk excessively if given the opportunity, but Cody NEVER really feels the urge to stop class to say something. I couldn’t imagine what was on his mind that needed to be said right then. I leaned over and asked if he wanted to ask me, but with a very intense look in his eyes he said he needed to tell Ms. Karen. So after a few seconds, Miss Karen called on him, “Yes, Cody.” Cody looked right at her and boldly said for the whole room of children and adults to hear, “I really like your new shirt you’re wearing!” It had a couple guitars or violins on it and must have stood out to him as something special. His teacher blushed a little and then went on to tell us the story behind her shirt. This prompted another child to compliment the teacher’s hair. The precious hearts of children!
