What I Love About You

The other night as I was rocking Anna she indicated to me that she wanted me to scratch her arm. This is something she finds very soothing and comforting and asks for it quite often now. In fact, as we were at the grocery store last week picking up some things for her she sat in the cart and asked me to scratch her arm. Her eyes looked so miserable and tired, as she was not feeling well. I was glad I could comfort her in some way even if I couldn’t make the sickness go away. Anyways, I used to always tease Shawn about making our children rotten as he is the one who started all this pampering from an early age. Cody, just barely over a year old, would take BOTH of Shawn’s hands to scratch his back just to be sure he was getting the most efficient back scratch possible! But as I rocked Anna that night and scratched her arm, I treasured the moment. She is so precious, and there will come a day when she will be too old for cuddles. I laid her in her bed and walked over to Cody’s room. I was amused as I walked in to find Cody laying in bed with his arms outstretched and Shawn scratching him. Rotten? Maybe. But I love this about them!
