Broken Wrist and a Bit of Mayberry

We started this past weekend with a trip to the farmer’s/artistry market in town.  I had never been before, and I LOVED it!  It was so fun walking around and seeing all the booths and talking with the different people there.  We bought a few things, and Shawn started staining our deck when we got home.  I had fun plans for Sunday, but our afternoon ended with a trip to the emergency room.  Cody was jumping on our neighbor’s trampoline when one of his friends landed on Cody’s wrist and broke it.  It is in a sling right now, and we will see the pediatric orthopedic doctor Thursday.  The ER doctor said it will probably be put in a cast Thursday since most of the swelling should be down by then.  While Cody was at the emergency room Sunday evening a bunch of his friends in the neighborhood made cards for Cody and dropped them by the house.  I thought that was so sweet and thoughtful of them.  They checked on him the next day after school, and the dad who owned the trampoline felt so badly that he offered to pay for Cody’s doctor bills.  Of course, we would NEVER let him do that, but it is just another example of the sweet people God has surrounded us with in our neighborhood.  Sometimes, I feel like we have a little bit of Mayberry right here on our own street!
