Eckert’s and Fireworks

This past weekend we made a trip to Eckert’s to pick some blackberries and eat lunch.  We are planning on making my Dad’s famous blackberry pie today!  I remember taking the kids there when Abby was just a newborn.  It was fun watching her pick the berries along with us this year.  She kept picking the ones that were not ripe, though, so we had to keep a close eye on her box!  We were looking for the dark berries (not the red ones), so every time I asked her what color she picked she would say, “Orange.”  I think berry picking will go a lot smoother once she learns her colors!  Sunday night we headed to Delmar Gardens after the rain stopped to get snow cones and watch the fireworks with our neighbors.  It is a fun little tradition we started and enjoy it so much!  We are looking forward to all the 4th of July celebrations this week!

P.S.  On our way to Eckert’s we stopped to get gas in our car.  Dylan got to help Shawn this time.  He thought he was such big stuff!  He got to keep the receipt; I didn’t think he would ever stop smiling!  It’s the little things…
