Shawn knows that I am notorious for messing up the words to a song. However, I take no responsibility for what happened this morning. Cody was downstairs with Shawn getting ready to leave for church, and I could hear him singing his little heart out to the song, “Oh, Happy Day!” He was just belting out the notes! The words to the song are “Oh, happy day. Oh, happy day. When Jesus washed, when Jesus washed, He washed my sins away!” Cody was doing great on this jazzy little chorus but got confused at the very end. As Cody put it, it was a happy day, “when Jesus washed, when Jesus washed, He washed my sandals away!” Then he turned to Shawn and said, “That’s what Mommy says.”
