Soccer Practice

Tonight was Cody’s first soccer practice, and he absolutely loved it! The coach was enthusiastic and did such an amazing job coaching these little children. The parents were also very encouraging cheering all the children on from the sidelines. Cody would clap and cheer for himself and the other boys and girls during the drills. I loved watching his smile as he would put his fists in the air in excitement after making a goal. He looked so much older out there on the field to me in his little jersey, and I was reminded of his growing independence as I watched his assertiveness during the drills and as he followed closely to the coach’s instructions. During the group huddle at the beginning of practice Cody looked over at Shawn and me, waved, and shouted, “Hi, Mom! Hi, Dad!”……….Talk about a proud momma’s heart! After practice Cody kept saying about himself, “I did a good job!” And you did, Cody………You are my little star, always.
