Family
Last week I came down with the flu. Shawn called me after his meeting at work and told me he was coming home to take care of the children. I told Cody that Daddy was coming home, and he asked why. I told him that Mommy felt sick and that Daddy was coming home so he could play with him, and I could get some rest. Cody responded, “Okay, but I don’t like this.” “Like what?” I asked. Cody told me, “When I’m sick I hurt, so that’s why I don’t want you to be sick.” I love how my darling four year old is learning to look outside of himself and see and care about the needs of others. He is growing into such a fine young boy.
Later that morning Shawn took all three of the children out for lunch and for some cotton candy flavored ice cream. I stayed home and slept. I was later awakened to some sweet faces standing beside my bed, each one greeting me with a balloon and get-well card. It brought sweet tears to my eyes. Oh, how I love my family!
