Who Said Tortoises Are Slow?

Several weeks ago we went to a nearby event that was being held in our area. It was an early Independence Day celebration. There were games for the children, prizes, food, clowns, animal balloons, fireworks, etc. There was also a petting zoo which Cody and Anna loved. They were filled with glee getting to be up close and friendly with the animals. Anna and Cody commented that the llamas needed a hairbrush. Seriously, they were a mangled mess! Anna was eager to hold the turtle that was in her big brother’s hands. She kept asking when she would get a turn. She was so excited when it finally got placed into her hands. However, she was unaware as to how wiggly he would be. Check out these photos of her with this turtle. She was SO ready to hand him off when his stubby legs got to moving. You can tell she was in no mood to wait for photos. But don’t let her fool you. I caught her grinning happily behind Dylan’s stroller right afterwards. She was so proud of herself for being so brave!
