A Child’s Perspective
Trying to remember some of the memorable comments made by the kids these past few weeks…
Anna: “I always think Mommy smells like peanut butter and Daddy smells like jelly.”
Dylan: “I smell trouble (big pause) which would be thunder!” (During our thunderstorm this past week)
Dylan: Grabs my hand in the parking lot at church and says to me, “Mommy, I love you, and you love me.”
Cody, we found out from Anna, doesn’t really like the nickname Shawn sometimes calls me (Teridith, a name a highschool friend of mine used to call me). We found out that he thought it said “death” at the end of it, and he didn’t like that name for me. He is so tenderhearted. We explained its true pronunciation, but I am not sure Shawn will want to jokingly call me that anymore.
Abby: I love how she tells me “Thank you” every time I wipe her nose with a tissue.
Abby: She refers to her drink as “wink.” I love hearing her ask for one!
Anna: She was with me at the grocery store when the cashier told me the total amount of my grocery bill. She looked concerned and whispered to me, “Mommy, do you have that much?” She is so used to the amount in her piggy bank. It was an enlightening moment of the real world for her. Ha!
