Powder Valley

We went to Powder Valley Conservation Center for a field trip yesterday.  We were scheduled for the log lodgers class.  It was very informative and fun.  We looked at books and learned about different creatures through puppets and stories.  The kids made a fun log craft and went on a nature hike.  We spotted poison ivy and are really hoping none of us picked it up!  We had a picnic lunch there, and afterwards, my friend Kristen talked to the kids about different animal facts and shared with them some animal pelts and skulls and various animal tracks.  Pretty neat!  Shawn and I want to go back to Powder Valley in the evening sometime and walk the trails.  We actually had a deer stand right next to our car while there, no fear.  It was so amazing!  The kids were in awe!
