Freedom Fest
We spent our Fourth of July grilling out for lunch and then heading to our city’s Freedom Fest. We watched Kid Davie perform and watched an extreme martial arts show. This was definitely the kids’ favorite performance! At one point in the show Cody and some of the other kids went down in the grassy area, close to the stage, while one of the men demonstrating broke open a soda can with his hand, spraying all the kids with soda. Cody thought that was awesome! We were surprised when they asked for a volunteer and our good friends the Junghans’ daughter went up from the crowd. We found each other afterwards, and they set up their chairs by us to watch the fireworks. Our kids are close friends, so they loved having each other to play with there! After the fireworks, as were heading to our car, the vendors were shutting down their stands. Several of them stopped our kids and gave them their own bag of cotton candy for free. Then someone stopped them and gave them free soda. Cody then declared it the “best day ever!” Fireworks and a sugar high! Happy Independence Day!
