National Anthem
Cody and Anna sang the National Anthem at our St. Louis Cardinals’ baseball game with their Kidz Praise choir this past weekend. My parents and sister and brother-in-law came into town also that weekend and got to watch. It was a great game, and the Cardinals scored over six points which meant it was slushy day the next day. The kids were thrilled about that! While family was here they got to watch Anna at gymnastics and Cody at martial arts. Cody received his green first belt the morning that my family left to go back home. I know he was glad they got to see that. We also went to the movies and saw Despicable Me 2 and made adorable character cupcakes from the movie afterwards! We also took my family for a drive through Lone Elk Park. It was even better than when we went a few weeks ago. It was closer to evening, and the animals were up and roaming around more. A buffalo greeted us as soon as we entered the bison section of the park. Anna desperately needed a bathroom when we arrived (the slushy wasn’t the best idea for a car ride), so when we pulled up to the bathrooms it was quite a surprise to see an elk with large antlers standing outside the restroom doors! It was fun and felt like an adventure! We stopped at Fritz’s and enjoyed some icecream outside the night before everyone headed home, a promise we made to the kids before my parents came. I am reminded how blessed we are to have family and glad they got to share a little of our lives here! Nothing is sweeter than family.
