Down On The Farm
We spent the last several weekends at our favorite farm. It is right across the street from us, and every fall we go there to see the animals and to test our ability at navigating the winding corn maze. We actually got separated from Shawn, Dylan, and Abby at one point in the maze(Dylan and Abby were with Shawn), but we made it out with the same kids we went in with, so I count that as a success! The first week we went with Anna’s friend Avery who was staying with us that morning. The second week we went with friends from our life group at church. I have a photo of Anna and Avery hugging each other tightly…The chickens were crazy that day, so Anna and Avery ran off scared! The chickens kept snatching Abby’s bag of food from her. Needless to say, she did not like that. In fact, when we went back the next week she told me, “I feed the kitties…not the chickens!” Dylan begged me to carry him around the chickens. When I scooped him up, he shouted, “They have us surrounded!” Ha! We had such a great time on the farm, and even after spending two weekends there, the kids still did not want to leave this place when it was time to go. The sun was setting, and as we were leaving, the lady who lives on the farm invited us back in the spring to see the baby chicks. We are already looking forward to it!
*By the way, this past year I have come to realize there aren’t many animals that Anna WON’T pet! She is definitely my little animal lover!
