Celebrating Baby Gracie
We were in Ohio a couple weekends ago helping throw my sister Tracy a baby shower. She is decorating in owls, so we had fun with the theme! Sometimes life throws us curve balls, though, and we just have to roll with it. The evening before the shower Mom and Tracy both got very sick from a nasty stomach bug. Of all days!! Tracy managed to feel a lot better just before the shower and was able to make it. Mom also was able to come, although I don’t think she was able to enjoy any of the food served that afternoon. Hopefully, she got some leftovers! It really turned out to be very beautiful, and I fully believe God chose to give Tracy baby Gracie at this particular season in her life. The circumstances around Gracie’s life just amaze me, and it is awesome to see God’s hand in it all! I can’t wait to meet her!
On a side note, on the drive to Ohio Abigail created her first actual drawing of a person (eyes, ears, nose, mustache, and beard even)! She said, “Look, Mommy, I drew Pap!” A second later, “Look, Mommy, I drew Grandpa!” Sure enough, she drew an actual person’s face! It was kind of a big deal, and there was a lot of celebrating in the car right then! Also, Aunt Kelli gave Anna her first sewing lesson while we were in Ohio. She made a pillow! Anna has a huge desire to start sewing, so Shawn told her we could start shopping for a sewing machine. Looks like I may need some lessons myself now!
* I wanted to share the card Cody made for my mom when we were there. I found it so sweet!
