Orthodontist

I took Cody to his first orthodontist appointment the other day.  I feel like I officially have an “older” kid now…this has entered a whole new phase for us.  Cody’s upper teeth are crowded and are growing in a V shape instead of a U shape.  They are going to put in an expander to wear for 6-9 months and also 4 braces, 2 in front and 1 on each side in back.  Surprisingly, Cody is very excited about this!  I hope the excitement continues throughout the 9 months.  Our appointment time happened to fall on the orthodontist’s birthday and the third year anniversary of his new office.  The ladies that work there set up a costume board for his patients to choose a silly costume to make our orthodontist wear for a photo together.  Cody thought it was hilarious!  They also had cupcakes to celebrate the big day and insisted that my kids take one.  It was a good experience for Cody.  I am glad Cody will be going here for the procedure.  The staff is extremely friendly and have even set up incentives for kids to earn prizes.  Cody is all about that!  They even gave Anna, Dylan, and Abigail t-shirts while there.  I think this is going to be a good experience!
