Tarzan At The Muny
We went Monday evening to watch Tarzan at the Muny, which is the nation’s oldest and largest outdoor musical theater. We wondered how all the kids would do since it starts after 8:00, and the kids wouldn’t get to bed until around midnight, but they did AWESOME! They all sat there attentively watching, and they all stayed awake through it. I brought some crayons and a coloring book for Abigail in case she needed something during the performance. I think she colored maybe five minutes; her eyes were glued to the stage. The whole performance was so fun! It was also fun hearing the comments from the kids. Dylan asked Cody afterwards if the people on there really did die (referring to Tarzan’s parents and Kerchak). Cody explained that they were just pretending…I certainly hope Dylan wouldn’t think we would take him to something like that for real! At intermission Abby shouted excitedly, “I want to watch that again!” Anna leaned over to me during the show and asked, “How do all the people in the performance stay awake this late at night?” Late bedtimes are a mystery to her! When Tarzan ended Cody expressed how much he loved it! He mentioned there was only one thing he didn’t like…He wished he could have gotten a picture with the cast! The whole thing was entertaining, and watching Tarzan swing/fly over the audience’s heads made for some great excitement. I am so glad we decided to try this new adventure with the kids.
