And Thank You For a Happy Place
Abigail is my quality time girl. She asks me frequently if I can put a book together of her memories (making this my goal this summer). She also asks me regularly if I can get her memory box down for her so she can look back on things she has made and notes that were written. The other day I saw her deep in thought, and then she says to me, “Mom, you make home wonderful.” A few days later she came to me again and happily let me know, “Mom, you make home wonderful.” Then as we were saying our bedtime prayers, she ends her prayer with, “And thank you, God, for a happy place.” Warmed my heart. I am very grateful for where we live, and we do share a lot of happy times. We were on a walk the other day, and a goose became obsessed with Cody and followed us for what seemed like forever. In fact, when our doorbell rang later that afternoon the kids squealed and joked that maybe it was the goose at our door, ha! At one point on our walk, the goose opened up its feathers to us, which we figured was perhaps a warning from the goose. A few days later we saw 2 different families of geese, and we figured that was why the goose was fixated on Cody, it had babies nearby. Several nights ago, the girls and I were on a walk late in the evening, and we stumbled on a bunny nursing about 4 or 5 baby bunnies! What a remarkable thing to happen upon. Now the girls want to set some baby carrots outside their hole as a gift for them. So sweet! I think we all have a happy place if we just open our eyes and see it.
