Goosebumps on Top of Goosebumps
I received a text message from my friend Melanie yesterday. We taught together at our church’s VBX all last week. She told me that a child who had been in our class, whom we had been praying for due to some family circumstances this child had shared with us, came to Sunday School for the first time yesterday! I was at the swimming pool when I received the news, and Anna laughed as I showed her the goosebumps I had from receiving that news…It was 95 degrees outside!! Needless to say, I was so happy to hear about this!! See, this child came in the middle of the week to VBX, and it was only supposed to be for one day (My impression was that they needed a babysitter.) This child had such a good time that the family decided to bring them back. We shared the Gospel and had a fun time playing together. We hoped we had loved on this family well and made them feel welcomed. I continue to pray that God’s love will be felt by them and hope to be able to stay connected. Here are a few snapshots from our week at VBX, including the family night at Wapelhorst Pool. Our favorite event from the week was packing food for children in other countries who do not have the resources that all of us do. These children are literally making mud cookies to help fill their stomachs. It was a great time serving together with the children and a wonderful reminder that life isn’t all about us.
