Great Wolf Lodge

We just got back from a long weekend in Kansas City. It is a little over 3 hours from where we live, and there have been things I wanted to go see there for awhile now. I think it would be difficult to put it all into one post, so I am going to break it up over the next few posts. First, I wanted to share where we stayed, Great Wolf Lodge. It was just as spectacular as I had hoped. The kids loved it and wanted to stay longer. The water park was so fun for them and perfect for their ages. We had so much fun going down the water slides together, and Dylan was so happy that he got to ride some as well. As soon as he shot out of the tunnel, he shouted that he wanted to do it again! When I went down with Anna for the first time, she got bounced right off into the water which, from the look on her face, surprised her greatly! Cody and Shawn went down the green slide and almost flipped their tube, as the water pushed them straight up. We loved the bedtime routine as all the kids gathered in the lobby in their pajamas for storytime or the Great Clock Tower Show. One night we missed the story, so we went back to our room and made up a story of our own, each person taking a turn to add to it. I hope I never forget that memory and how we laughed as Dylan mumbled his words, pretending to be a little boy and girl made of chocolate without a mouth to speak! (Smile) Every time we went to the water park Cody would see a stuffed toy wolf outside their little gift shop. He wanted one so badly; he thought they were just as cute as could be. Shawn and I surprised the kids on our last morning there. As they opened their car door to leave for home, they found a stuffed wolf in each of their seats, just waiting for them…oh the squeals! Cody thought we went to the wrong car. Ha! I am so glad Shawn planned this trip. Thanks for the memories!
